Pruning Techniques

o Sheered hedges
o Hedge thinning maintains hole-free hedges, reducing branch dieback and encouraging interior growth. Required every 1–3 years; neglected hedges may take several years to restore.
o Japanese “Niwaki” or “garden tree” pruning
o Pruning for improved airflow and disease resistance
o Limbing of small trees/ low branches for improved light to shade plantings

o Installation, fertilization, deadheading, seasonal updates and replacements
